Product Overview

The DK-SCD series broken chain protector is an industrial-grade safety monitoring device developed specifically for chain transmission equipment. It is mainly applicable to material conveying machinery such as bucket elevators, scraper conveyors and belt conveyors. The device can monitor abnormal operating conditions in real time, including chain breakage, chain slippage, over-speed and under-speed. Once a fault is detected, it immediately outputs an alarm or shutdown signal, effectively avoiding equipment damage, material leakage and major safety accidents. Featuring IP65 dustproof and waterproof grade, strong anti-interference capability and stable performance, it supports long-term stable operation in harsh industrial environments such as mines, cement plants, thermal power plants and grain depots.

Working Principle

This broken chain protector adopts high-precision induction detection technology, which collects the real-time operating frequency and speed signals of the sprocket through a built-in induction sensor. During normal operation, the sensor continuously receives stable pulse signals. When faults such as chain breakage, slippage or stalling occur, the pulse signals will be interrupted or deviate from the standard set value. The built-in control chip instantly judges the fault status, triggers the relay output signal, and links with the on-site control system to realize alarm reminder or emergency shutdown protection, fully ensuring the safe operation of mechanical equipment.

Installation Method

This broken chain protector adopts wall-mounted fixed installation, which does not require modifying the original equipment structure, featuring simple operation and high efficiency.

● Installation Position: Install the sensor probe on the side of the equipment tail shaft, align the probe with the tail shaft center to ensure stable collection of operating signals.

● Fixing Method: Fix the equipment host by drilling holes or installing screws to keep the device vertical and stable, preventing shaking and displacement during equipment operation.

● Wiring Operation: Connect the power cord and signal cord strictly according to the standard wiring diagram to ensure firm connection and good insulation performance.

● Debugging & Verification: Test the induction function after power-on after installation. The equipment can be officially put into use only after the detection and alarm functions are confirmed normal.

Commissioning Steps

● Complete mechanical installation of protector and speed sensor, finish wiring and double-check all connections.

● Switch on power and start the main equipment. Wait about 20 seconds until the equipment runs at stable speed.

● Press and hold the Set/Reset button for 3 seconds; the red indicator flashes to enter intelligent calibration mode.

● Calibration completes automatically when the red light turns off, and the protector enters normal monitoring mode.

Installation & Operation Precautions

● The installation position must avoid direct strong wind, water impact and severe mechanical extrusion to prevent equipment damage and failure.

● Clean the sensor probe regularly to remove surface dust and sundries and ensure accurate detection signals.

● All installation and wiring work must be completed by professional electricians to avoid equipment failure caused by wrong wiring.

● Regularly check the fixing firmness and signal sensitivity of the equipment during daily use to maintain normal operation.

● Private disassembly of the equipment is prohibited. Equipment failure caused by unauthorized disassembly will void the warranty.

● Cut off the power supply and stop the equipment before maintenance and inspection to ensure construction safety.
